Meet Zero Waste Detroit’s new Outreach & Education Coordinator

Melanie Berkowitz is honored to join Zero Waste Detroit’s efforts to promote Detroit’s curbside recycling program and zero waste alternatives to incineration, as Outreach and Education Coordinator. She owes much of her campaigning chops to the Rainforest Action Network, where she worked as an organizer, facilitator and grant writer on a campaign that pressured snack food companies to eliminate deforestation and human rights abuses from their palm oil supply chains. This past year, Melanie spent much of her time in Southwest Detroit singing the ABCs and connecting young families enrolled in Southwest Counseling Solutions’ Thrive by Five Head Start program to local resources. She is excited to build on the tireless work of Detroit’s social and environmental justice leaders to envision and create more more just, healthy and compassionate communities. list of domains . microsoft exchange server check broken links
