Zero Waste Detroit has been working hard with the City of Detroit to increase the number of household residents participating in the curbside recycling program. On October 20, Zero Waste Detroit led a recycling workshop at the Don Bosco Community Resource Center. Over 300 residents attended to learn the ins-and-outs of curbside recycling, and in doing so, participants each received a curbside bin at no cost to them. We want to give a special shout out to Detroit’s Department of Neighborhood’s District 7 staff and to the Don Bosco Community Resource Center for their tremendous outreach to community members. For those who could not make this event, contact Zero Waste Detroit if you are interested in hosting a curbside recycling workshop in your community — we’ll make it happen!
